All-Time Medal Standings
The World Junior Hockey Championship began as an invitational tournament in 1974, and was sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation in 1977. Here are the all-time tournament medal standings since 1974:

  1. Russia: 16 Gold, 10 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
    (includes medals won by the Soviet Union and Commonwealth of Independent States prior to 1992)
  2. Canada: 15 Gold, 10 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
  3. Czech Republic: 2 Gold, 5 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
    (includes medals won by Czechoslovakia prior to 1993)
  4. Finland: 2 Gold, 4 Silver, and 7 Bronze.
  5. USA: 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze.
  6. Sweden: 2 Gold, 7 Silver, and 5 Bronze.
  7. Switzerland: 1 Bronze.
  8. Slovakia: 1 Bronze.
