All-Time Medal Standings
The World Junior Hockey Championship began as an invitational tournament in 1974, and was sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation in 1977. Here are the all-time tournament medal standings since 1974:
- Russia: 16 Gold, 10 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
(includes medals won by the Soviet Union and Commonwealth of Independent States prior to 1992) - Canada: 15 Gold, 10 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
- Czech Republic: 2 Gold, 5 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
(includes medals won by Czechoslovakia prior to 1993) - Finland: 2 Gold, 4 Silver, and 7 Bronze.
- USA: 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze.
- Sweden: 2 Gold, 7 Silver, and 5 Bronze.
- Switzerland: 1 Bronze.
- Slovakia: 1 Bronze.
