Hockey Stick Bag
Hockey players are picky, and usually like to select their own skates, sticks and equipment. But many accessories are much easier to shop for.
1) Hockey Stick Bag
A stick bag is especially useful for road trips, when hockey sticks and other loose items are easily lost. Some bags include extra pouches for warm-up gear and other odds and ends.
2) Hockey Equipment Bag
The selection is huge, so look for a large bag made of durable water-resistant material. Double-stitched zippers and side pockets for skates and accessories are also good. If you are buying for a goalie, make sure you buy a goalie bag. Some input from your hockey player is advised. Move up in price if you need a better selection.
3) Goalie Throat Protector
The gap between a goalie's mask and his shoulder pads leaves a dangerous opening. This shield fastens to the mask and dangles below the chin to protector the throat area.
4) Practice Jersey
Save the team uniform for games. All hockey players need an extra jersey, and a lightweight practice jersey is ideal for on-ice workouts, pick-up games and (of course) practices. Don't worry too much about size. Most players like a loose fit.
5) Hockey Puck Bag
If the hockey player in your family is responsible for bringing the pucks, this will make his or her trip to the rink a whole lot easier.
6) CCM NHL Fleece Sweatshirts
Fleece is good for both staying warm and cooling down. Various styles available. Use the pulldown menu in the left hand column to select a team.
