Restricted free agents re-signing today:
- Goaltender John Grahame of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
- Defenseman Jason Doig of the Washington Capitals.
- Right winger Arron Asham and center Jason Wiemer of the New York Islanders.
- Left winger Tyson Nash of the Phoenix Coyotes.

July 17 -

The Nashville Predators have retained Denis Arkhipov. Arkhipov, a 24-year-old forward, had 35 points last season.

Other restricted free agents re-signing today:
- Right winger Adam Deadmarsh of the Los Angeles Kings.
- Left winger Fredrik Modin of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
- Defenseman Sami Salo and forward Mats Lindgren of the Vancouver Canucks.
- Defensemen Andy Sutton and Ivan Majesky of the Atlanta Thrashers.

July 16 -

Restricted free agents re-signing today:
- Center Olli Jokinen and right winger Viktor Kozlov of the Florida Panthers.
- Defenseman Wade Redden of the Ottawa Senators.

- Defenseman Karlis Skrastins and forward Bates Battaglia of the Colorado Avalanche.
- Forward Stephane Yelle of the Calgary Flames.
- Goaltender Dan Cloutier and defenseman Marek Malik of the Vancouver Canucks.
- Goaltender Martin Prusek of the Ottawa Senators.
- Defenseman Brad Lukowich and right winger Andre Roy of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Defenseman Darren Rumble, an unrestricted free agent, also re-signed with Tampa. - Jonathan Girard of the Boston Bruins.

July 14 -

The Boston Bruins have re-signed forward P.J. Axelsson. He will make $1.3-million next season to begin a two-year contract. Axelsson, 27, is coming off his most productive season with 17 goals and 19 assists in 66 games.

Also agreeing to a two-year contract is Radek Martinek of the New York Islanders. Martinek, 26, had two goals, 11 assists and a plus-15 rating in 66 games last season.

July 11 -

The San Jose Sharks rewarded Patrick Marleau with a raise. The 23-year-old centre has a two-year contract worth $2.35-million per year. Marleau made $1.8-million last season, recording a career-high 28 goals and 29 assists.

July 10 -

Kenny Jonsson remains with the New York Islanders, accepting a two-year contract. Jonsson, 28, earned $2.5-million in 2002-03. He gets $3-million next season. He had 26 points in 71 games, but his minus-8 rating was the worst among fulltime Islander defenseman.

Scott Hartnell, has a one-year, $1.18-million deal from the Nashville Predators. Hartnell, 21, has 28 goals and 63 assists in 232 career games.

July 3 -

The Buffalo Sabres have acquired the rights to restricted free agent forward Chris Drury in a three-way deal with the Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche. The Sabres acquired center Steve Reinprecht from Colorado, then sent him to Calgary along with veteran defenseman Rhett Warrener. Buffalo also gets center Steve Begin from Calgary. Going to the Avalanche is Keith Ballard, the Sabres' first-round draft pick in 2002.

July 1 -

The Colorado Avalanche have reached one-year contracts with three players: defensemen Derek Morris and D. J. Smith and fourth-line forward Serge Aubin. Two minor league players, goaltender Phil Sauve and defenseman Mikko Viitanen signed deals for two and three years respectively.
