It's just more fun than you ever dreamed of, isn't it?

With the NHL lockout about to click over into December, anyone following the mess is scrambling to catch up on U.S. labor law and economics.

Over the last week, we've heard several players muse about the option of union decertification, a process darkly referred to by many as the "nuclear option" which could "blow up" the league.

And in case you thought NHL commish Gary Bettman and players' exec Donald Fehr were expert negotiators, turns out their so good at it that federal mediators have been brought in to referee the latest bargaining session.

Is this why you became a hockey fan?

If you can stomach the details, our latest update on the NHL lockout is a brief, plain-English look at mediation and decertification, and how each tactic might come into play as the boardroom war continues.

The owners got to stay tough and dismantle the union or kiss the unions ass next contract hockey is the 4th fav sport in the usa , they cannot rebound like baseball , if the union decides to strike next contact, what then? the owners better be prepared to kiss butt, there is no place right now for a mediator .
