Garth's Choice: He'll Pick First in the NHL Entry Draft
Garth Snow made big headlines a couple of years ago, in his early days as general manager of the New York Islanders.
Sadly for him, the Ryan Smyth trade was one of those sexy, splashy deals that didn't work out so well in the long run.
Garth's been pretty quiet since then. But he'll be back in the spotlight on Friday, June 26, because he gets first choice in the NHL Entry Draft.
Garth and the Islanders have the only opinion that matters in the John Tavares versus Victor Hedman debate.
But you never know. Maybe he'll pull another fast one and opt for Matt Duchene (pictured), lately climbing the draft rankings.
Here's how the teams line up: the selection order for Round One of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
