The 2009 NHL Winter Classic was the league's best outdoor event yet, with Detroit beating Chicago 6-4 in a fast-paced game played in near-perfect conditions.
It's being hailed by just about everyone as an unqualified success.

So far the ‘09 Winter Classic is great and the coverage on CBC & NBC is pretty good. Not only should it be a yearly event but in multiple locations across northern areas.
