2008-09 NHL Season Preview
As fans in Prague and Stockholm prepare to ring in the new NHL season, it's time to speculate on how the next six months might unfold.
This week, we preview the coming season with a profile of each NHL team.
The 30 team previews will be rolled out as the week goes on, starting today with five teams that made the Stanley Cup Playoffs last spring and five that closed shop at the end of the regular season.
On Saturday, when the list is complete, we'll post the predicted NHL standings for 2008-09.

Unless they find extra offense, a slip from the league's elite is inevitable.
No team better illustrates the Eastern Conference tightrope walk.
