Where You Can't Read About Tie Domi's Divorce

In Canada, the celebrity divorce doesn't get much better than this: The auto parts magnate who would be prime minister has been exposed as the Other Woman in the messy life of Toronto's most beloved hockey goon.

Belinda Stronach, Member of Parliament, Liberal leadership aspirant and one of Canada's most powerful businesswomen, is named in divorce papers filed by the estranged wife of recently retired Maple Leafs' brawler Tie Domi.

Needless to say, all hands are having a field day with the nasty details. Well, almost all hands.

As of Monday night, the Domi divorce story was nowhere to be found at TSN.ca, the most popular sports website in Canada. Could it be because the former Leaf fave has just been added to the TSN NHL broadcast team?

At the same time, Tie and Belinda were getting top billing on the hockey page at TSN's competitor, Sportsnet.ca. Could it have something to do with the fierce rivalry between the two networks, especially when it comes to NHL coverage? You don't suppose the Sportsnet folks are enjoying this one just a little, do you?

Update: Funny how a sordid headline or two can help move negotiations along. As of Tuesday, Domi and the ex have agreed to a "preliminary divorce agreement" designed to keep their private war off the public record.
