Zdeno Chara, Ed Jovanovski, Rob Blake, Willie Mitchell, Jay McKee and Pavel Kubina are among the defensemen finding new homes on the first day of NHL free agency.

Chara to Boston for five years/$37.5 million.
Jovanovski to Phoenix for five years/$32.5 million.
Blake to L.A. for two years/$12 million.
Mitchell to Vancouver for four years/$14 million.
Kubina to Toronto for four years/$20 million.
McKee to St. Louis for four years/$16 million.
