Steve Moore Sues Todd Bertuzzi and the Canucks
After Wednesday, who would have guessed that the headlines could get any worse for the NHL?
The Denver Post reports that Steve Moore has launched a lawsuit in connection with Todd Bertuzzi's infamous assault on him last March.
Moore, a Colorado Avalanche forward, suffered a concussion and fractured vertebrae during a game in Vancouver. The injuries came when Bertuzzi, a Canucks' winger, jumped him from behind and tackled him to the ice.
According to the Post: "The defendants include Bertuzzi, Canucks forward Brad May, Canucks coach Marc Crawford, former Vancouver general manager Brian Burke, plus the Canucks and the partnership that owns the team. The National Hockey League, which fined the Canucks and suspended Bertuzzi after the attack, was not included among the defendants."
The suit asks for damages, but a specific figure has not been named.
