How does a gifted two-way centerman spend the NHL lockout? Sergei Fedorov of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks has joined forces with his brother to shake up the pop charts.
Sergei and Fedor appear in the latest music video by a pair of Russian pop tarts called Ru. The video features a double wedding ceremony in which the lads and the tarts get hitched. Well, that got the rumor mill going! In case you've been losing sleep over it, one of the Ru girls addressed "the pressing question on everyone's lips."
"No, we did not get married, but it felt very real as we did it in a real church with a real ring and a real priest! I almost forgot I was acting!"
It gets better. After a pair of forgettable seasons in the American Hockey League, Fedor Fedorov is currently underwhelming the Russian League with eight points in 15 games for Moscow Spartak. But that doesn't matter, because deep down inside, he's a sensitive singer-songwriter. You can check out his monster grooves at the Fedorov Brothers website. Sample lyric:
Should I pick up the phone, probably not
All my friends are saying you are a slut
Yeah, that's right
That's right, indeed. If the NHL lockout can keep at least one singing hockey player on the other side of the ocean, perhaps it will all be worth it.
