NHL Players Hold Fast: "We're willing to wait as long as it takes.''
As expected, there was much talk of unity, solidarity and fighting the good fight following Tuesday's meeting of the NHL Players' Association.
Pierre Dagenais, one of several players who questioned the NHLPA position last week, was reprogrammed. "I learned that the union isn't just working for the high-priced players, they're working for everyone, including the low-end guys," he told reporters.
But are they working to resume negotiations with the NHL? Apparently not, according to the Canadian Press report: "No talks are planned for the immediate future between the NHL and NHLPA. The union says the league has made it clear not to show up to the negotiating table until it can talk salary cap."
"If they don't want to move from a cap, we're willing to wait as long as it takes," said Alyn McCauley of the San Jose Sharks.
