Another NHL Salary Cut: It's Not Like He Needed the Money

It might be a pay cut, but it's still a lot of money for a 35-year-old power forward whose numbers have slipped substantially in the last two years. Brendan Shanahan has signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings, with a player option for a second year. The deal is reportedly worth between $3.5 and $4 million per season. Shanahan made $6.5 million last season.
