Thursday June 24, 2004
One of hockey's most disreputable traditions continued today, as Todd Bertuzzi became the latest player to face criminal charges for his actions on the ice. The Vancouver Canucks' winger is charged with assault causing bodily harm for his March 9 attack on Steve Moore of the Colorado Avalanche. His first court appearance is July 9. Bertuzzi's attack left Moore with a concussion and neck injuries, and earned him an indefinite suspension from the NHL.
