Three Defensemen for the Hall of Fame

Thursday June 10, 2004
The Hockey Hall of Fame has made a few questionable moves in recent years. When Clarke Gillies and Bernie Federko were inducted in 2002, some suggested the institution should be renamed the Hockey Hall of Pretty Good.

But it is hard to imagine anyone challenging the credentials of the 2004 inductees. Ray Bourque, Paul Coffey and Larry Murphy are among the most exciting and influential defensemen of all time, largely because they spent as much time creating goals as they did preventing them.
