Lecavalier and Lightning Hit Back Against Calgary

Game two of the Stanley Cup Final began with a flurry of suspect penalties called by overzealous officials. It closed with a series of fights and wrestling matches. The result was the most penalty minutes in a Cup Final game since 1986.

When the players weren't getting in trouble, they provided lots of entertaining hockey. Tampa Bay played its most physical game of the playoffs, and it paid off when the Lightning built on a 1-0 lead with three goals in a 3:07 span during the third period. The final score was Tampa Bay 4 - Calgary 1.

Lightning center Vincent Lecavalier was the Man of the Match, dishing out big hits and setting up goals. The series is tied at one game apiece, and resumes Saturday night in Calgary. Read more...
