A New Hockey Game?

As the song says, the good old hockey game is the best game you can name. But the good new hockey game might be even better. NHL general managers, a notoriously conservative bunch, emerged from two days of meetings today to recommend significant changes to the way the game is played. Rule changes will include a restriction on goaltender puck handling and a two-inch reduction in the size of goalie pads.

Update: Surprise! Goaltenders hate the proposed new rules! But the NHL says it won't back down in the face of a goalie backlash.
