"Maybe We Think We're Too Good"
Thursday October 23, 2003
The Colorado Avalanche have hardly looked "too good," losing three of their last four games. The Denver Post reports that, with Paul Kariya's wrist injury and this week's acquisition of Steve Konowalchuk, Colorado will try some new-look lines in hopes of breaking the slump. The loaded Avalanche lineup has raised ridiculous expectations in Denver. Fans and media are not likely to remain patient if the team hovers around the .500 mark for too long. When this team gets rolling, the early season troubles will be forgotten. In the meantime, the man under the most pressure is coach Tony Granato. After all, almost anyone should be able to win with this bunch.
