Unhappy Jocks: Jagr Heartbroken, Joseph Headed For The Bus Leagues
Tuesday October 21, 2003
Safe to say that when he moved to Michigan, stopping pucks for the Grand Rapids Griffins was not what Curtis Joseph had in mind. But the Griffins hope to have Cujo in uniform on Friday, in the first game of his conditioning assignment from the Red Wings. According to the Canadian Press, Joseph is not especially thrilled with the idea of playing in the minors. No kidding. From the the quotes he offers, it is easy to surmise that Joseph wants nothing more than to go somewhere else (in the NHL), outplay Dominik Hasek and beat Detroit.
Meanwhile, Jaromir Jagr's romantic troubles are the latest excuse in Washington. It seems he parted ways with his girlfriend over the summer. "When something like this happens, I would say it is tougher for someone who works physically, like a hockey player, because you lose your power," he told CP. First Fedorov, now Jagr. Can't somebody find these guys a girl?
