Other players spent more time in a Toronto Maple Leafs' uniform. But no Leaf in recent memory captured the heart of the city the way Doug Gilmour did. Gilmour, who retired today, earned his place among Leaf legends when he led the team on a couple of stirring playoff runs in the early 1990s. The Toronto Globe and Mail reports that Gilmour is likely headed to the Hockey Hall of Fame. He leaves the game as the 12th highest scorer in NHL history.
