Blackhawks Step Into The Future With Tuomo Ruutu
Thursday August 28, 2003
A few days ago it looked like Tuomo Ruutu might never appear in a Chicago Blackhawks' uniform. The 20-year-old center, described by some as the best hockey player outside the NHL, was said to be demanding bonuses worth $5-$7-million dollars, too rich for the penny-pinching Blackhawks. But TSN reports that Ruutu has finally signed a contract and will be in training camp in September. Chicago hockey fans are desperate for a little good news, and getting a guy who has drawn comparisons to Mike Peca and Peter Forsberg is a nice boost.
