Herb Brooks: 1937-2003

The hockey world is mourning the sudden death of Herb Brooks, killed Monday in a traffic accident. Brooks was the coach behind one of the landmark victories in international hockey. But the 1980 Olympic gold medal was just the peak of a long and innovative career.

Update: Herb Brooks has been selected for the Hockey Hall of Fame, and will be inducted during a ceremony held in November of 2006.
